OEKO-TEX: a safety sign on Kapriol clothing

The search for high quality garments has grown enormously, we no longer look only at how affordable a garment is, but we also pay more attention to the durability and composition of the materials with which it was produced.

At Kapriol we are promoters of this vision, enriching it with a further aspect that underlines not only the care we take in proposing quality, functional and durable garments, but also the attention to protecting the health of the wearer. It's hard to imagine what the correlation between clothing and well-being could be: apparently none, until we focus on the sensation we feel when we wear our garments.

First of all, it must be emphasized that what we wear inevitably comes into contact with the skin, therefore the types of materials that make-up the garment become absolutely relevant for our well-being and our health. It is possible that harmful chemical substances are used to produce certain fabrics and accessories, which can cause damage to the health of the wearer and the environment over time, precisely due to the release of these substances.

Among the essential requirements of Kapriol clothing there is also the harmlessness of the product. In our garments there are no substances harmful to the skin or to the health of the wearer. To certify it there is not only our word, but a hangtag: OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. OEKO-TEX® is a unique certification and control standard in the sector of textile raw materials, semi-finished and finished products, which marks products that do not present risks to consumer health and damage to the environment.

Given the innumerable types of labels that can be granted, it becomes difficult to understand exactly how to read them and what meaning they contain. We can help you with this: on Kapriol garments there is a hangtag with the wording OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. What does it mean? It means that each component of the product (fabrics, thread, plastic and metal parts such as zips and buttons, fabric or rubber labels) has been tested for harmful substances by neutral and independent institutes that work closely with OEKO- TEX. Not only that, the issue of the certificate, highlighted by the hangtag hanging from the garment, testifies that the tests have been passed, and therefore the garment is harmless to human health. All this based on well-defined and continuously updated standards according to the innovations that occur from time to time both at a scientific and legislative level.

It's not easy to pass the stringent OEKO-TEX criteria: linings, outer material and seams, zippers, even prints…everything is properly inspected for the thing we care most about: your safety.

As further confirmation, OEKO-TEX provides buyers with the possibility of verifying whether the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certificate relating to that garment is valid. To do this, just enter the number shown on the hangtag on the OEKO-TEX website. Try it with Kapriol products too!

Despite the tests passed, transparency and traceability always remain our prerogative, and we want to give you the opportunity to verify them every day with your own eyes. The web address is also available on the hangtag affixed to the garment, which together with the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 logo, the certification number and the name of the certifying body that conducted the analysis, is part of the mandatory elements certifying the regularity of the certificate.

The numeric code also identifies the class to which the product belongs, based on the intensity of contact with the skin, and the area of use: in the case of Kapriol, the Work wear section.

It is important to highlight that the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 hangtag certifies the production chain, i.e. compliance with the standards of harmlessness from the packaging to the materials: each actor in the process (the manufacture and the producer of fabrics, zips, buttons, labels) is Oekotex certified.

To create a quality product, we start with fabrics, but the risk of compromising an excellent material, and even more the well-being of those who will wear it, is decidedly high. The verification process does not only involve synthetic fibers, as one would naturally think, but also natural ones. In fact, it is far from impossible to intensively use chemical fertilizers during the cultivation of the cotton used to produce clothing, which could lead to allergic reactions. By applying the OEKO-TEX label to our garments, the commitment we take on as Kapriol is to be credible in all circumstances, thus building and maintaining a relationship based on total trust with our customers.

And if you are in doubt, remember that everything is always just a click away.

From the construction site to high altitudes: a helmet for every challenge
In the construction, industrial, and plant engineering sectors, a work helmet is not just a legal requirement, but the fine line between an unexpected event and maximum safety. On modern construction sites, where risks related to suspended loads, lateral impacts, or falls from height are a daily occurrence, wearing an excellent Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential. Kapriol's design was born precisely to overcome the old myth of the uncomfortable helmet, combining materials engineering with unprecedented comfort for the entire working day. The strength of the Kapriol offer lies in the ability to diversify structures according to the specific risk. Where maximum impact energy dissipation capacity is required, the helmets feature rigid shells designed to protect the cranium in a targeted manner, meeting the needs of those working on the ground, near electrical systems, or at high altitudes.

Dynamic 37.5 - The most advanced line for your profession and free time

From the “active particles” of volcanic origin the new 37.5® technology that increases comfort and improves performance.

Technology: wide field of research that studies the application and use of everything that can be functional to the solution of practical problems. And a practical problem that everyone faces in the various seasons is body temperature. We do physical activity and the body temperature rises and the body produces sweat - and we are hot - and shortly after the sweat evaporates, we immediately feel cold. And here the 37.5 Technology comes to our aid.

How does it work ?

It is a dynamic technology that interacts with the body to determine if it needs heating or cooling. It is activated with moisture and works based on the amount of moisture near the skin. Operation occurs through active particles, consisting of volcanic sand, which capture the infrared energy that the body emits. If there is moisture, it accelerates evaporation to cool; if, on the other hand, there is no humidity, the IR energy is returned to keep the body warm.

Science fiction? No, a technology that solves practical problems and helps keep the body at the ideal internal temperature of 37.5 degrees and the microclimate near the skin at an ideal relative humidity of 37.5%. The quick removal of steam, before it turns into sweat is the key to comfort and by improving comfort, fatigue is reduced and our performance increases.

Fabrics produced with 37.5 technology do not lose their effectiveness following use or washing as the active particles are incorporated in the yarns that make up the garments.

Kapriol proposes the Dynamic 37.5 clothing line for the 2022 collection, composed of garments that are easy to wear and easy to maintain; the most advanced answer for the most demanding professional. 37.5 technology is “Skin Friendly” certified (DIN EN ISO 10993 5 2009 10) in compliance with European standards.

Under the sun, always protected thanks to UPF 50+ technology
Before starting the day on the construction site, checking equipment is an essential ritual: helmet positioned, shoes laced, gloves ready. Often, however, there is a risk of forgetting the most invisible danger: ultraviolet rays. For those who spend the entire day outdoors – moving between hot asphalt, the height of scaffolding, or agricultural land – the sun is not simply a weather note that makes the day more tiring. It is a concrete risk agent for skin health. From this awareness stems Kapriol's choice to develop specific solutions for high temperatures, created to go beyond the concept of simple workwear. The goal is to offer garments capable of letting the body breathe and, at the same time, acting as a real solar barrier to be worn every day. Moreover, the most effective prevention on site is born precisely from the culture of safety and the sharing of good practices among professionals, especially in the hottest months.
